Whether by choice or circumstance, there are times it is necessary to wade (or dive!) into mess and chaos to experience personal fulfillment and professional success.
Few of us find this appealing. How many of us willingly enter uncertainty and the unknown? A stark sense of independence, a worry that opening the ‘black box’ could take us down, or our human nature simply wanting to avoid discomfort - all that can hold us back. Yet stepping into this unknown is essential for growth.
The time comes when we know we need to answer the call. Sometimes the call comes from within: from a sense of doubt or deep confusion. Sometimes it comes from outside in the form of an unexpected crisis. By having someone be in this journey with us, someone to ask the questions that need to be asked, we’ll find ourselves better able to identify the core truth of what is happening. We can acknowledge the pain we carry, and still know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. That visceral feeling of holding a paradox allows us to tap into our sense of purpose or meaning, and as more of us comes fully on board, we can be open up to new possibilities.
